[DeTomaso] Oklahoma Pantera radiator party

I'd just like to recognize and thank my Oklahoma Pantera brain trust for a job well done.

A few weeks ago my aluminum radiator sprung a leak. After a good deal of research I decided to go with a Fluidyne replacement from Precision Proformance. Bob was very helpful in our email and phone correspondence and delivered a good product. I've got the OEM pusher fans and a single aftermarket puller fan. As my car hasn't had any overheating problems I decided to keep this 3 fan set up in the original straight up orientation.

Chuck Engles, Jim Gray and Todd Reid (and son) spent 6 hours of a beautiful Saturday afternoon toiling in my garage. Without too much fanfare we were able to remove the original radiator. We then found the dimensions of the original and new Fluidyne were just slightly different, such that the mounting bracket for my 3rd fan would not fit. Todd and Jim were able to alter that bracket to fit the new radiator. With some modification to the side grommets we were able to drop in the new radiator. Initial testing indicates all is functioning well.

Another HUGE bonus was Todd's success in removing a stubborn plug so that I could transfer my temp sender from the coolant tank to the block. This bolt clearly hadn't moved in the 38 year life of the block and had been quite resistant to my efforts over the past 2 weeks. Todd pulled a few tricks out of his bag... and it only required one trip to NAPA. The plug is out and the temp sender is in.

Thanks again, fellas. I owe you all.
