[DeTomaso] key not working

Dear Will,

You are always thinking! Yes, I think that the properties of the key lock lubricant would make it pretty reasonable to use on the trunion support bushing.

I think the gummy phenomenon is most common with the stock bushings that had a rubber sleeve or cuff if I recall correctly. I think that it "gummed" up due to rubber deterioration from age and heat plus road dust and debris. I have the Pantera Performance Center trunion bushing upgrades. They have been fine. I usually lubricate the shifter shaft at the trunion with some teflon bicycle chain lubricant as it is supposed to not attract dust and dirt and become gummy. I don't know how lubricants hold up in close proximity to the heat from the headers though.

Warmest regards, Chuck Engles
