[DeTomaso] Wix 51515R Filter Information

Dear List,

 

            A knowledgeable friend sends this along to Pantera owners...FYI

 


                 Please post a correction on the Detomaso forum. My old
computer will not post to the darn thing.

                 Larry  Finch made a statement about Wix filters.  It is
unfortunately wrong.

 

                 The 'R' suffix DOES NOT indicate the filter has a drain
back valve.   It means a LOT more.   Most important  is the fact that the
mircon numbers are way different and that the flow numbers are like night
and day!    If people buy the 'R' filter, they are probably in for
accelerated bearing wear, based just on the fact that it passes particles 3
TIMES bigger than the 51515 plain Jane.

Just click on the 51515 and the 51515R and read the differences and notice
they recommend the 'R' for racing only.
