Okay, most of us have by now heard the idea that Snopes is just a Liberal, Socialist, Commie media ploy to discredit
all one holds near and dear and all that is Chevrolet, Mom and Apple Pie.

But the fact is Snopes at least backs up their information with un-doctored photos, with full text of out-of-context quotes, 
with history of viral emails that morph to alter the names and dates as the passage of time requires to keep their un-truths current, etc, etc.

It takes many sources of information in these times to verify, or refute, much of what we see and hear through the national media.  

It takes a HELL of a lot of sources in these times to verify the crap that enters the public arena through the concocted, distorted and outright untrue emails that some people cling to as their only source of information.

Who checks Snopes?

People who are interested in basing their beliefs on fact, not lies, distortion and falsehoods, that's who.

Those that omit Snopes as a source - it is not necessary to take it as undeniable truth - are people that perhaps fear their beliefs
would not stand the test of actual investigation.

You are free to make that choice for yourself. 

Just don't expect all of us to be so gullible.
