[DeTomaso] Radiator needed--or advice, anyway

Remember the leaking radiator about which I was recently ranting?

I got word today that the leak isn't coming from one of the places where the plastic rods holding the sucker fan are. My apologies to the mechanic who installed it that way who I accused of the problem.

No, it turns out that one of the main pipes leading into the core is leaking--and the radiator has to be taken apart to be fixed at a cost of $450.00.

I paid about $600 for the radiator brand new a few years ago. It's a double core, brass unit and was working great until the leak appeared.

I can get an aluminum, lay-down unit but it costs over $1000.00--more than the budget allows right now.

Does anyone have a new radiator lying around they want to sell me for a great price?

If not, I guess I'll have to pony up the $450. I already owe them $50 for the estimate, so at this point it would really cost me that much more to replace rather than repair it.

Advice?

Thanks,

Chris
