[DeTomaso] NPC...You may want to Delete?

A city might use eminent domain theory to force the sale of the trademarks to the city.  That seems fair because eminent domain has been used to force the sale of property to build facilities for the teams.  Oakland tried to force the sale of the Raiders to the city under eminent domain when Davis moved the team to LA, but the court said no because they found that operation of a sports team was not a public use.  This seems inconsistent with the use of eminent domain to force the sale of land.

I agree with the principle, but intellectual property law disagrees. Names,
logos, etc. are owned by the team and go along with them to the next city. I
know I am stating the obvious.

It always seems like a shame when a team moves. They become so ingrained in
the city's culture and history...only to leave because another city will
build a better stadium or give them more tax breaks.
