[DeTomaso] NPC - Help, I have a virus - what do I do

I mistakenly opened an email attachment from someone who's email was  
sending out spam. My Norton Antivirus did not catch anything but now  it seems I 
am sending out similar spam emails with an attachment.
 
As soon as I found out I ran a full system scan with Norton Antivirus but  
it did not find anything. What do I do next to ensure that I don't infect 
other  people.
