Your stock alt was a 61-amp unit; Ford offered a 105 amp in the same case
for police cars and taxis which vastly simplifies the adaption. Alts above
105 amps will likely need dual vee belts or a gilmer/serpentine belt
conversion, which will cause problems with the pully & belt(s) hitting the firewall.
Upgraded wiring will also be needed to carry the extra amperage. You can
shift the whole powertrain back 3/4" by reversing the upper motormount halfs
side-for-side and bending the rearmost ZF mount-tabs (late mounts only) into a
shallow 'S', then adding extra shims.
Using the wide-body Pantera flat-firewall alt mount that shoves the alt
upstairs and backward, only transfers the considerable load from the alt vee
belt to the A/C compressor drive belt- which is also a problem to upgrade due
to the firewall.
All this depends entirely on how long you actually run the big alt at very
high loads. Most of us get along fine with an aluminum radiator and dual
shrouded flat sucker fans that collectively pull far less amperage than your
4-fan setup. Good luck- J Deryke
