[DeTomaso] Pantera Damper and crank pulley

Thanks Chuck,

I dug into some parts I got with the longer term project car, and found a cast pulley with about 5 inch dia grooves and about a half inch offset of the closest groove from the mounting face.  I think this is the right one.  I'm glad I don't have to buy one.

Dear Ken,

I thought I had an extra crank pulley for a photo, but, alas,
no.  IIRC and my memory is a little fuzzy, the Pantera crank pulley base
isn't recessed, but I would defer to someone with a picture.   Also, 351C
Mustang pulleys don't work with the Pantera pulleys.....   There are billet
pulleys with the right dimensions.  They exist, but you'll have to track
them down or see if the vendors already have them.

                       Warmest regards,  Chuck Engles

I'm getting ready to drop the engine and ZF back in and putting the crank
pulley, AC, and alternator on the engine.  The engine had a
generic alternator bracket (not a Pantera AC/alternator bracket) and no AC
compressor.  I'm not sure if the crank pulley is the right one.  It won't
fit a typical flat faced aftermarket damper because the mounting surface of
the pulley is recessed inside the crank pulley.  It will bolt to an OEM
damper, but not a flat faced after market damper.

Does anyone know if I have a Pantera crank pulley, or what the specs are for
a Pantera crank pulley?  Is there a billet pulley that has the right
dimensions?

thanks,

Ken
