I have to side with Jake on this issue. Before we had the internet and
readily assessable forums, did we still get a percentage of
cams failing during break-in....yes we did. Do aggressive cam profiles
and higher spring rates increase the rate of failure....I suspect yes.
The solid lifter "hot" Boss 351 cam would be a very mild profile by
today's standards. On the safe side, yes I run an oil high in ZDDP but
are there are other factors too.
