Bjoern, I assume that you are from ( country ending in ...land?). I am in Texas, which borders on Mexico, along with New Mexico, Arizona, and California. Maybe I'm wrong, but you'll might lump all of us in one big pot - but, for instance, Mexican restaurant food in the 4 states varies - sometimes a lot. In Texas, we have Tex-Mex: all meals come with refried beans and rice, and tortilla chips and dips. The other states are different.
Anyway, we all know the word Peso - the Mexican coin. I just didn't know how the owner of the license plate wanted it read. And, "Big Money" works for me.
And, just for fun: San Antonio, Texas is in Bexar County. Guess how Bexar is pronounced!! (Bear - like in Oso.) There's a little bitty town in town in Texas, called Marquez - they say "Mar-Kay." Another little town is Mexia - yep call it "Muh-Hay-Uh." German names are fun, also: Kukyendahl - you better find an "R" in there, and say "Kirk-N-Dahl." We have lots of Vietnamese in Houston, and that's a whole new bowl of noodles. Lastly, I think that in England, they may pronounce my hometown as "How-stun." --Billy (As in William) Lewis
