[DeTomaso] Sensor Thread

All of my thread references only show 16mm & 18mm as standard thread
diameters.  What diameter do the threads measure exactly, it may be an SAE
thread size.  And are they straight cut or taper threads?

I have a temp sensor in my Quella IR air cleaner. I'm looking for the thread
pitch so I can drill/tap a new hole. I think it's a standard sensor that is
used on many vehicles. The pitch looks to be 1.5mm. OD is about 17mm?? Is
this a standard thread?
