[DeTomaso] DOA - The "new" De Tomaso

All,

When I talked with Tom Tjaarda at Monterey this past August he was of the opinion
that the new De Tomaso figureheads were basically running a scam to get what they
could out of the Italian government for reviving the defunct firm. That the Deauville project
was just the 'salting' maneuver to keep things moving forward, but he felt they would fold
and the entire venture would fade away into the sunset.

I offer the following -

SpaItalia - featured marque was De Tomaso. No factory presence in sight.

Frankfurt Auto show - No factory presence in sight.

L.A. Auto show - remember, it was to be the scheduled debut site for the "new" Pantera? 
                           No factory presence in sight.

Sure looks like Tom was right.

The "new" De Tomaso is DOA.

Long live the "old' De Tomaso.  :-)
