Yes but, my Pantera is different from every other standard I've driven and
have now. So I have to pay attention when I switch from my American car
with a manual to my Pantera.

...and Lloyd has one in his own Pantera too, along with his six-speed
gearbox.

I love Lloyd like a brother, but I think it's incredibly dumb and
dangerous, because the shift linkage is set up BACKWARDS. First gear is
where it
normally is in a Pantera, but then second is where reverse is, third is
where
third normally is, fourth is where second normally is, and so forth. So
everything you ever knew about how to shift a car goes right out the window;

instead of pulling straight back to upshift, pulling straight back now
downshifts. That's a sure recipe for destroying a gearbox and/or crashing
your
car in the heat of the moment, I think....

I don't know fur sure why it is set up that way--I'm guessing it's so that
it works properly when the gearbox is inverted, i.e. in GT40/Mangusta
orientation?

Mike
