I thought Lloyd had worked on something like this a while back for non-Pantera applications of the ZF?

Subject: [DeTomaso] Custom Pantera Cable Shift Kit?
Dear Forum,
I stumbled across this yesterday. It is a custom cable linkage shift kit for a Pantera that replaces the mechanical shaft linkage. The website link is below. I spoke with James Malin about the kit this morning. He has about four installed on running cars and two more sold to cars under restoration. All of the Panteras are in the New England area except for one under construction in California.
James claims that it is a major improvement over the stock linkage. It shifts easier. It is "adjust it once and you're done" using finger adjustment rather than wrench adjustments. Price is about $1200-1300 for the kit which can be installed by the average Pantera owner in a weekend afternoon ( those weekend afternoons usually stretch to the whole weekend in my garage........).
I understand that a lot of cars use cable shifters and although I am no expert, I seem to recall that they have mixed reviews like mechanical shifters (the devil is in the details methinks.....).
Warmest regards, Chuck Engles
