[DeTomaso] Custom Pantera Cable Shift Kit?

We discussed this some time back...

I'd have to see/drive to believe. I don't know why you'd change a well
adjusted rod linkage to a cable.
The GT40 guys all want to change their cable shifter to a rod!

My experience is as follows:

1) The stock Pantera shift linkage with the fingers cut out of the
gate, the detent and spring removed from the shifter box, the Pantera
Performance center trunnion bearing mod and good adjustment works
very, very well for me. If I can power shift 1st to 2nd, that should
say something. OK, 2nd gear synchro hates me, but you get my point.

2) My GT40 has a cable shift. It was stiff, hard to shift... over time
and after a little tweaking, it has improved, but you have to be very
methodical when you shift.

For me, I'd sure spend my money on some other things....

But that's just my opinion.
