thanks Rob - i understand that the newer escorts include a gps function where it knows where cameras are - does the V1 have this functionality? - if not, does anyone have experience with this new feature?

I have a Cobra and a Valentine 1. The Cobra is on the shelf now, as I'd rather move the V1 around than even trust the Cobra. Expensive, but I like it much better.

My fusebox is Pantera Electronics upgraded one. I found a switched circuit that had a plug in the back I could easily get to and just plugged it up without having to remove the fusebox, though it would not have been a huge deal if I had.  I created a ground wire off of my AC mount with a 14 GA wire and ran both up the passenger pillar and under the front headliner section.  The V-1 comes with a hardwire jack that you just splice into under the headliner.  I used heat shrink to make it look pretty and keep the visible wires together. Easy.
