[DeTomaso] Door Alignment

The primary wear items on any car door are the door hinges, which
consists of the base plate, the door arm, the bronze or brass bushing
and the door pin

The other wear items are the striker plate on the door post and the
catch inside the door.

The mounting bolts do not wear, the holes do not wear ( unless they are loose )

IMHO opinion, ya'll are going about this like apes with a ball peen hammer.

I have replaced and "fixed" 1/2 dozen MotorHome and trailer doors and
another dozen car doors
by replacing the most worn items only.

the door hinge bushings and the pin itself and some minor alignment after that.

1/64 or smaller amount of bushing and pin wear can equal over a 1/2 of
sag on a long door.

Do yourselves a favor and inspect the pins and bushings inside the
door hinges first.

If worn, remove the door, knock out the old bushings, press in some new ones
and use a new set of door pins.

THEN adjust it.

Jacking up the door is a fancy way of sayong "bending the S^%$" out of it"
