[DeTomaso] GPS for ORR

The most accurate is to time it with a stopwatch.

You measure everything the day before and note landmarks or place surveying
flags. Compute the distances, measure the time to distance, and keep a
sheet & clipboard of the various landmarks and times. As you're driving,
you have your navigator do a countdown to each landmark.

You'll find that you can hit the marks within a couple of feet based on the
stopwatch. At 60mph, 1 second is 88 feet. You'll be going closer to 130mph
(depending on your class). If you get within a couple of feet, you are well
into the fractions of seconds on your target speed.

GPS won't get nearly that close. GPS is good to place the flags and to
replace your speedo, but you really need to do the stopwatch thing to win
the events.

An alternative is to ride with Michael Frazier.
