When My older brothers went to college, all their reports were typed.
Taking computer classes meant learning things like Fortran and card based
computer programs.

Just a few short years latter, when I went to college I bought a Comador
64 and a printer. I was ecstatic I did not need to type my papers. It had
a word processor and a spell check with 5-1/2" floppies. Computer classes
consisted of some of the first Word and Excel programs.

As many moments are, that was a defining moment for what rolls computers
played.
