Perhaps you could try to go further than .100", but I wouldn't risk it with
a good ball joint.
Here's a photo I just took of my front suspension setup:

The rear (left in the photo) side of the ball joint is milled .100", and a
home-made .100" shim was added on the front side to compensate. Note also
the Pantera Performance Center camber lock kit, which works GREAT!
