[DeTomaso] Alignment Specs.....revisited

Those specs look odd. Are you sure you don't have the front camber and caster numbers mixed up? 2-3deg of positive caster and -01 camber would make much more sense. If you'll call Pantera Performance center and tell them what suspension set up you have they'll give you their recommended specs over the phone.

Good luck,

Gray

Have them get rid of the positive camber too.

Dear Rob,

Me thinks that you have some problems. The tendency to wander back and forth at speed is disconcerting. Based on the specs that you say your alignment shop used to set up the car, the aligment may be correct to their specs, but I think that their reference is *way* off.
If I read it correctly, they say you should have a front caster from -0.1 to
+0.1. If so that itself could be the biggest part of your current problems.
Panteras need all the *positive* caster that they can get and what they have set up is laughably puny. The stock front end can give at least a positive full degree and maybe two. You should have as much as can be set. The other specs, I can't speak for. I am away from my alignment specs.
If you're using the stock suspension with spacers plus stock bushings and you're using stock wheels and appropriate tires, then a whole new wonderful world of improved ride and handling await you when you upgrade to the modern package of modified poly bushings for more caster; new shocks&springs and modern wheels with modern high performance tires. Of course, it does have a cost, but try not to think about it.
I can send you my alignment specs, but I don't think they would necessarily translate correctly to your set up.

Warmest regards, Chuck Engles
