Could this mysterious "L" terminal possibly be a "Lamp" terminal?

Not sure if the L terminal is the Field wire or not. My alternator guy told
me what to do and it worked like a champ. I wanted to go with the 100 Amp
but did the 130 instead. It has done me well, but it scares me when I would
run the battery down and start the car up. The ammeter pegs for a while and
I suspect pushes more current than the original wires were designed to push.
I keep a trickle charger on the battery to not have that situation.
