[DeTomaso] Vacuum for brakes

Forum:

My engine has ~6 inches of vacuum at idle.  Many stock cars have between 8-12.  
All references I read say that for optimal brake operation we need at least 16 
in of vacuum to the booster. (I'm trying to tweak my brakes).

I'd like to hear from anyone who is using a vacuum reservoir or an electric 
vacuum pump to increase the vacuum available for the brake booster. Which are 
you using, what brand, any caveats?
