[DeTomaso] Pulling Valve Covers to Replace Gaskets

Bingo! They popped right off ... and cleaning will now be a lot easier
... but the old cork does have a tendency to break apart into gazillions
of tiny pieces.

I'm going with Fel-Pro rubber gaskets this time around. Let's hope
installation is just as easy!

Thanks, Mike!

Any recommendations for pulling the valve covers and removing the
existing (cork) gaskets with minimal mess?

Hopefully you glued your gaskets to the inside of the valve covers, and
put a light coating of grease between the gasket and the surface of the
head? That lets them just lift right off.

If they stick to the head, prepare to have fun with your gasket scraper.

If they stick to the valve cover, you still get to have fun with your
gasket scraper, but at least it doesn't fall into the motor.
