I have the 8577 and wish I didn't.   There's no good reason not to have 
vacuum advance on a street car.

MSD makes a version of the 8577 that has vacuum advance; it's the 8477.   I 
wish I had one of those on my car now.

I guess the ready-to-run model is a straight swap that eliminates the need 
for an MSD box, making it substantially less expensive and simpler to 
install.
