Did you remove the metering blocks, and clean out all the gick that can get 
in there too?   If all you did was remove the float bowls and wipe them 
down, you haven't done anything of substance.

You're supposed to be soaking your carb in carb cleaner, blowing it out 
with compressed air, etc. etc.

There are no shortcuts here!
