[DeTomaso] Borla mufflers

Facts:

Lyndon Johnson stole the social security $s to fund the Great Society.

Jimmy Carter gave Social Security benefits to people who never paid into it.

Based on a 5% interest rate, the money taken (effectively at gun point) from me by the federal government would be about a million $s when I'm 67.  I'll be lucky to get half of that back.  I assume most of us are in the same situation (just do the math).

I don't see any sane argument for letting the crooks and idiots who have pissed away all this money remain in control of social security.

I'm failing to find the Pantera content in the recent posts to this thread.

But since I didn't start it...

Something you pay for all your life - like SS and Medicare, is not an"entitlement"

It is an earned, and paid for, benefit.

But all the Republicans and their Wall Street buddies are doing their best to reshape
the public's perception of these earned benefits as being some evil, Commie/Socialist
'entitlement' scheme and they are doing this for one reason and one reason only -

They want to remove government management of these programs and shift them into
the private sector. There is a LOT of potential money to make mamnaging those programs,
and as we all should know by now, there can never be too much money in their already
bulging-at-the-seams bonus/performance/stock option/CEO pockets.

So the rich can get richer, and the rest of us....well, you know the drill by now.

But the spin continues, the buzzword management machine is in full swing, and the
poor working stiffs of this country continue to be duped into screaming
"TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY" at any mention of increased taxes, when in reality not many
of them are even CLOSE to the upper ranges for which tax increases are being proposed.

I can't think of any other country where the working poor are so involved and vocal in thinking their
financial health will somehow be improved by helping the already filthy-rich add more to their portfolios.

My 2¢ comment on - "Borla mufflers"

Larry - remember, I didn't start this one....  ;-)
