[DeTomaso] My idea for mufflers

If you take a look at the inside of this one, the architecture is the exact same on both ends. The tubing is just perforated and not finned and there is a sound absorbing material stuffed on the inside that I plan to leave in there.

I hope to cut it open this weekend and take more pics.

Thanks for the feedback.

Chance

One thing to consider, those mufflers are uni-directional. That means that the internal baffles are designed for the gasses to flow in only one direction through the muffler.

If you're planning to cut it in half and and flip one end around, what was the inlet side will then become the outlet. Assuming the internal baffle architecture is the same front

to back, they will be facing the wrong direction in one of the mufflers, leading to a different sounding exhaust note from one side to the other I would expect. Food for thought.

  Cheers!
  Garth

Chance, That sounds like a great idea! I'll have to give that one some thought. Art
