[DeTomaso] Cleaning a carb...

Hmm, the cocktail of ingredients looks nice but I wonder if a mix of
ordinary gas and naphta would be of any use. Buying carb cleaner in aerosol
cans enough to dunk a carb seems expensive.

So, you do realize all Holleys are -not- the same. You'll need to
make sure your gasket kit is made for the LIST number of the Holley
carb you have.

As for cleaning, I like to soak all the bits in a gallon can of
carb-clean. I have a nice basket to put parts in, dunk the basket in
the can of cleaner and let soak for a while. Anywhere from a half
hour to a day depending on how cruddy things look.

Remove from the cleaner and wash with clean warm water. Then blow dry
with compressed air.

Really hard deposits won't come clean with a can of spray carb cleaner
unless you work at it. The gallon can-o-stuff I use is highly caustic:

But it works very well.

Good luck,
Asa Jay
