Is he building them up now? I'm pretty sure mine was machined down to accept a SAE heim joint (rod end). IIRC the shift rod is 18mm, so you can save yourself the machining part by purchasing a metric heim. You can also go more exotic and get teflon or kevlar lined heims for less resistance.
