[DeTomaso] Help needed! Metric Harness Eyebolts 11mm X 1.25 pitch

Guy working on car for me now says:

Yes thread sizes are very close – but passenger side has the child seat hook on it and the bolt head says 8.8 That’s METRIC.
I believe a stock bolt would have a grade 8 marking instead of a 8.8 marking….means it’s a metric bolt in that hole.

Re. a 7/16-20 bolt he tried he says:
It doesn’t tread in by hand, just want YOU to be the one to make the call on the thread size and pitch.

Silly question probably but I ask you guys anyway:
Is there a difference between a 7/16-20 UNF and a 7/16-20 SAE bolt?

Can that be the issue here? Or is it simply metric bolts I need?
Cheers Bjoern
