[DeTomaso] Riddle me this, electrical people

Mine has the same problem and I remember reading some where that the lighter 
pushes the internals down to make contact, and when the lighter pops there 
is no electrical circuit because the internals rebound with the lighter.
YMMV

At my age this could all have been a dream.
