So far the votes are 100% for reverse polarity... thanks all, I'll let you
know. (uploading pix of today's outing with the Renault Alpine club right
now.... what a fantastic day!)

My guess would be reverse polarity too.  The cigar lighter doesn't care 
but the charger might.
