Good point--but was the radiator out of the car, sitting on the ground at
the time? In that case, you'd get lots of flow but perhaps not so much
pressure, as the only restriction would be caused by the radiator itself and not
the rest of the cooling system.
That said, I'd be surprised if any radiator could withstand massive
pressure, and would imagine that the fire hose was throttled back more than a bit
(which is the smart thing to do).
