Hi Tom,

I just finished up an undercoating application on another older ford truck,
well, bronco. For show type cars im not much of an undercoating fan...but
drivers it does make sense. I think bedliners work fine, there is a product
called "herculiner" I think, and it cam be bought by the consumer at
hardware stores here in Oklahoma. It comes with a small paint roller type
applicator and self applied, and it works pretty good. As far as traditional
undercoatings, I used two recently, by spray on from a can. one impressed me
and the other did not. First I used a Duplicolor product " Duplicolor
professional undercoat and sound eliminator" and it didn't lay down very
flat....kinda dripped a lot and took literally hours to dry. Then my buddy
suggested I use the "Rustoleum professional grade undercoating" and it works
a lot better. Dries a bid harder and less rubbery, even texture, and dries
somewhat thinner per coating. It also dries very quickly and looks a lot
like bedliner rather than mopped-on roofing tar. Anyway, that is my take. I
also think 3M makes a good product. Of course just about everything they
make seems to be good stuff.

Good Luck, let us know how it goes!

Cullen
