Re your last episode: stiffer springs will not collapse under car weight as
much as lighter springs, and trying to calculate the amount you should
start with is far more difficult than just bolting them on and adjusting the
spring perches.
IMHO, you really ought to adjust the spring hights to weight-balance the
car, not just for appeareance. Doing this makes calculations even less
possible, as most Pantera frames & suspension tabs have moved a bit in 39 or so
years. Most Panteras will have four separate spring collar heights when
properly set. Resetting the spring heights also changes the wheel alignment-
mostly, toe-in of the front & rear wheels. If you don't weight-balance the car, I
suggest careful test drives at progressively faster speeds rather than a
single blast, as handling can change notably. Good luck - J Deryke
