[DeTomaso] brake system question

thanks for all the great advice to everyone.

i am not sure my booster is doing enough, and I am not sure my master cylinder has a large enough bore.

but what bothers me, just like the rest of you, is the pull to one side. My theory has been persistent air in the caliper since it is a brand new wilwood. i keep bleeding it, but no change. i will look at the whole thing more closely this weekend. justin

First suggestion: find out why the car is pulling to one side. That's the only thing I see as "wrong". A couple of Panteras have had this problem and both cured it by changing the front caliper on the side NOT pulling- something was causing that unit to not respond like the other side- maybe a plug or a mfg defect. Looking at the pads on the non-working side, you could see there was only minimal contact with the rotor.
A competent driver doesn't need the 'shuttle valve'. All it tells you is if fluid is low or pads are worn, and most of us do a once-over of such things before firing up the engine. Unless you've screwed up the plumbing somehow, the shuttle is not part of the pulling to one side, though. FWIW- J DeRyke
