Michael - while it is completely true what you say, remember that the
orginal question was "are multi-point harnesses MORE dangerous than a
traditional seatbelt", and not "are they completely danger-free".

The body will suffer in any abrupt stop, and as subsequent posts have
pointed out, certain body parts may suffer more than others (ouch!) But
going back to the original question, you may have bruising with multi point
belts, but you would have the same bruising (or probably worse) with OEM
belts.

Larry,

Clearly you have never worn either and come to a sudden or abrupt stop.

Shall we say that the "Boys" were never meant to be used as "anti G
Devices".

In a hard accident, you will find that belts are never tight enough, it is
not uncommon to have black and blue

bruising ( which turns a sickly shade of yellow ) or  ecchymosis caused by
traumatized/broken capillaries under the skin

in the groin, collarbones and across the hipbones.

I hope you never find out.
