There is no question that these guys were not using their equipment
properly. It's like the old seat belts where you could wear a shoulder
harness with out a lap belt. It was asking , make that begging for
trouble.Or people that put their infant children in the front passenger seat
with an air bag. Just about everything designed to provide some measure of
safety can do more harm then good if not used properly. That's not limited
to cars it's with anything. How many people don't bother to read directions
when they buy something. The world is full of morons. When you start riding
motorcycles, Boats, fast cars you spend a substantial amount of your time
just avoiding the idiots. They will sell a crotch rocket that does 0 to 60
in 2.3 secs to someone with no motorcycle experience. They will sell a speed
boat to anyone with the money . You don't need any kind of licence. You
don't need a license for an Ultra light, That's something that flys!!! a
jet ski that will do 70 mph! All you need is the money! We all have stories
about people that have come close to killing one of us with their stupidity
and every season the news is full of people that kill themselves their
passengers and innocent bystanders. These guys who turned their testes into
pop tarts were supposed to be professional on some level. They were racing
in an event that was proffesional on some level and were using three layer
protective suits , six point harnesses that were FIA approved.
The flaw was in their application by their users.
