As Dennis mentioned, I think there is a pretty good chance I would be dead,
paralyzed or a vegetable, (though I have been accused of the vegetable
status long before the accident), had I been using a harness in my car when
the accident occurred. I had no roll bar, cage or helmet. The left side
of the roof was crushed but the right side was not. Because the shoulder
strap was over my left shoulder and not my right, it allowed my torso to go
to the uncrushed right side of the cab. I had never thought of the hazard
of a harness without a roll bar until I saw my car after the accident.

right here pal! LOL. I just read about a new product today that might help
make the shoulder belt more useful for spirited driving. The link is
