 I have found this site to be great resource for decoding Ford part numbers, date codes, etc.

Click the links in the left hand column for detailed tutorials.

Asa's stock flywheel has an original casting # of C5AE-638-E The 638 is a bit odd. These are almost always four or more digits. I can find no specific decode for the 638 number.
A casting number is usually not the same as a service parts part number, which is what you use to order a specific part for a specific application.

decoded:
C= '60 decade
5=fifth year of that decade
A=full size ford (model part was designed for)
E=engine group
638=basic part number, in this case a flywheel (or brakes, wheels,pistons, etc)
E=fifth engineering version of this part

The added part # is C7TE-A
C= '60 decade
7=seventh year of that decade
T=truck (model part was designed for)
E=engine group

Ford probably skipped including the "638" as it was redundant

A=the first engineering version of this part

Asa's 'date code" - 3A13 - decodes to January 13, 1973.

I suspect the flywheel casting is generic enough to be applicable to many applications. 10', 10.5",11" clutches. The size of the clutch disk would require different PP mounting holes, and the C7TE-A version is for the stock Pantera 11" clutch. But not just the Pantera clutch. Such a larger clutch makes sense in a high torque, severe duty truck environment and may have first seen use back in 1967.

My 2¢
