Just curious as to the available brain power and knowledge base found here.

When many of us were kids, there were many famous cars seen in magazines,
car shows and even made as Hot Wheels
( Most famous was the "Twin Mill" ). where the cars were equipped with 2,4,
6 and 8 individual V8 Engines.

My question is, how did they get all that power to work together and turn
one drive shaft?

Did any of them have the engines turn in different directions on each side
 to offset the massive torque?

How efficient were they ( obviously once jets were adapted, they stopped
building them ).

Thanks,

Probably a little bored today as well.
