Some Ford pressure plates have different pedestal heights inside the clutch
covers. This means the three levers swing on a different arc. You can shim
the pedestal heights to 'stock' but you have to know what you're doing and
you need the shims. Some have cast-on bob-weights that swing out thru slots
under centrifugal force and hit the ribs inside the bellhousing. Some have
bolt-on weights, and Pantera clutches have none. They barely clear. And spring
pressures are different depending on the application. That's for the
pressure plates; there are differences in the discs, too; thickness, design,
material and how a shock-spring is incorporated (or not).
IMHO, there is no money to be saved by piecing together a Pantera clutch;
order what the various vendors have found to actually bolt-on. Otherwise, it
is an exercise to get 'custom' clutches to work even as well as stock, and
it's possible to damage your car while fooling with it. Good luck- J DeRyke
