[DeTomaso] GT5 - Maserati heater/AC panel

 Mike,

I've sourced the control panel in the used parts market and they are not stupid pricey. If I can find a car in the pull-your-part lot, some other auxiliary parts could be grabbed.

I know they used some vacuum controls but we have a vacuum source just on the other side of the front wall. And vacuum servos are plentiful in most cars now.

Not really planning on swapping the entire heater/AC box but am hoping to be able to adapt the stock early Pantera unit.

I'm adding the 3-speed fan and the upgraded evaporator unit this winter, and while I'm there thought this might add to the joy of the endeavor. :-)

Does anyone know if the heater box was also just the standard Maserati unit, or was it custom-specific to the GT5 cars?

Larry

P.S. - Anyone (MIKE) have a photo of the GT5 or Maserati heater box removed from the dash?

I suggest to look through Wilkinson's catalog and get a feel for the difference in the two units, it's not just the control panel, it's the whole heater A/C assembly that was changed. I have no idea whether the later controls would adapt to an earlier heater A/C core.

It's a VERY expensive thing through De Tomaso channels. I had one pass through my hands; the entire heater box assembly (NOT including the control panel) was over $2000!!!!
