[DeTomaso] DeTomaso Digest, Vol 75, Issue 25-Stack Heights

I asked some of the guys working on a Group 7 car at Laguna Seca about the unequal length stacks some of the cars have, and they told me that was to spread out the power band by giving some of the cylinders greater VE at one RPM, and other cylinder greater VE at another RPM.

Makes sense, but seems a little funky also because some cylinders would be a little rich and others a little lean if they are all getting the same amount of fuel.

Looks cool.

One of our Pantera owners has a Lola Can Am
car... He had Lozano Brothers (winston cup guys)
tweak his motor.. they called him after the first dyno
pull and wanted to cut his stacks on the Kinsler injection
The owner stated that is was a Vintage Can am car
(the injection system is very expensive if you can get one)
the owner told them that all the Can Am guys ran big stacks
and Lozano told them they did not know anything back then(ha ha)
He finally let them cut them 3/4 of an inch and they picked up
6 hp on a 650hp plus motor.. he told them that was good enough
and not to cut any more... It is Mechanical Injection but on a 1500lb
car it hits hard and revs soooo quick  :):)
