Dunno on that particular charger, but quite a few 'smart' chargers simply 
do not recognize AGM batteries when they get hooked on. I wrote a little tip 
in your POCA Newsletter back in September taken from the Optima Tech site: 

'To charge ANY deeply discharged Optima (and presumably other AGM 
batteries), hook it along with a fully charged battery, to the charger in parallel. 
Leave the two batteries on for 30 minutes (no longer than 60 minutes or you 
risk destroying the charger), then disconnect the fully charged one. This 
should lay enough surface charge onto the Optima to allow the charger to 
realize there's a discharged battery hooked to it and charging will proceed 
normally'.
