But unless the old tires were first mounted when they were half worn or whatever they would have rubbed when new. (Unless they were smaller dimensionally from the manufacturer.)

The more obvious difference is that your new tires have more rubber on them
nd therefore will have a larger diameter then your old tires.

Can you move the A-arm assembly back any? (Don't laugh)
Modify the flare?
es to both- but not just anyone can (or should) do this. I suggest you
ake the car to a Pantera specialist in your area- such as Precision
roformance or Wilkinson, and ask them for a professional opinion. We're all
uessing
ithout the thing in front of us, and most on this forum couldn't personally
correct it anyway. I certainly couldn't pound clearance into your completed
lairs in an acceptible manner!
s you say- bodywork can change the flairs to clear, or adjustable rear
hocks can raise the rear up a bit, This not only gives too-big tires more
clearance, it establishes a desirable nose-low tilt called a 'rake' that
mproves high speed handling. A custom suspension can help. Its a lot of

read, $$$) to do any of these, so ask yourself- is the extra 2% traction
ou
AY get from running the absolute maximum width tire under your car worth
his trouble & expense? Perhaps a smaller-section rear tire might still
llow
ou to bend around corners just as fast with no further mods at all? Good
uck anyway- J Deryke _______________________________________________
