See how easy we can change back to cars????? (Let me apologize first to any
of you that actually hold an elected public office.....)
Point being, that whether it be old (SMOG PRODUCING MONSTERS!) cars, or
firearms, there are those out there that will choose these easy targets to pick
on!
Why? Because they are easy!!! AND POPULAR with voters and stupid TV
commercials..... You don't see them chasing smog producing industry giants or
firearms manufacturers.....cuz like Japan not invading the US in WWII because
they knew we were armed (OR Germany and Switzerland...), they know that these
big companies have lawyers......lots of 'em!!!! You and I would be unlikely to
challenge them with lawyers.....
I would guess that any politicians (with any amount of brains...is that actually
possible?) would understand the idiocy of thinking that a law will actually
prevent someone from doing something if they have their heart set out to do
it!!!!
Same applies to our DeTomasos! No one can think that by getting rid of all
the old cars, that we could not have any more smog issues......or by having all
the old cars smog checked that we would actually contribute in a major way to
reducing pollution in any manner that could be actually measured and
justified! Same with firearm laws!
BUT, every 4 years or so, some one desperate for votes, because they haven't
done squat to speak of any where else in their reign, picks up the "smog the old
cars" banner, or the "register all your guns" flag and pollutes the airwaves
with their BS. (It is times like this, every October, that I am dog damned glad
that we have a TiVo or two in the house!!!!) I'm "green" because I want to
clean up the air.....I'm strong on crime because I want to register the guns....
and keep them out of the hands of criminals...."
This is criminal behavior by our politicians if you ask me! Isn't it a federal
crime to steal thousands of dollars??? Cumulatively, they are doing just that
by wasting my time and yours......with this sort of BS rhetoric.......
My fear, is that the rest of us could get lazy and then when we aren't looking,
one of these bastards slips us all a Mickey, and tacks on a provision such as
the above, to a bill that is to build a bridge over a waterway in southern
Missouri to protect some furry mammal of sorts......and BAM! We're all
screwed! BTW, I don't believe that tacking on unrelated provisions to bills
should be legal either.....pretty slimy and underhanded....oh, that's right,
we're talking about politicians here....I forgot!!!!
Anyway, that's how I feel, and anyone that tries to take my rights away had
better not come to my door and tell me about it, because I still have a 16"
chainsaw that will take care of them rather handily....sorta messy.....but it
will make using the wood chipper much easier......!
Stupid people....... there oughta be a law requiring them to wear their signs
out in public!!! Now that's a crime!
Steve
PS: I LOVED the damned VW article!!! I wanted to do that to a bug since I was a
little kid with a new screwdriver, taking the door knobs off our house.......
PSS: I guess if the politicians wanted, they could outlaw "operation on public
roadways" our old cars, much like Australia did to 60's cars there (I
believe!).....if that were the case, I'd go buy myself about 25-50 acres
somewhere, tie my lawn mower to the back of my Goose, and "take care of biz"
like no tomorrow!!! I think I'd mount a big potato cannon on it too.....
