What strain?

The only time the battery has to do any work is when it's turning the 
starter motor.   After that, the alternator (or generator) is producing power, 
and the battery is receiving a charge from the charging system, not providing 
energy to the electrical system.

Motorcycle batteries have a rather finite lifespan, particularly if a 
motorcycle isn't used regularly, all year around.   If you have a battery 
problem, most likely the sole solution is a new battery.   If your charging system 
isn't working properly, then that's where you need to focus your attention.

You aren't "saving" anything by switching from normal bulbs to LEDs.   But 
you are creating unnecessary headache....
